This Week on LGBTQ Twitter: Bisexuals get visible
This week, bi folks are making themselves known on Twitter. And providing some pro tips for how to spot a bisexual in the wild (or the mirror). Happy Visibility Day, bisexuals! I hope you enjoy 1-3 iced coffees in your leather/jean jacket and score at least one (1) new tattoo while looking up pet adoption photos and sitting completely bananas in a chair! — Heather Hogan (@theheatherhogan) September 23, 2022 Catch the bi folks now, while you still can… It’s #BiVisibilityDay, so as is customary, you may perceive me, if only for a moment. pic.twitter.com/XmNGdjMAWN — Jiwandeep Kohli (@jiwandeepkohli) September 23, 2022 You may know them by their cuffed jeans. Let’s have a moment of silence to think of all the bisexuals with their cuffed jeans and cold ankles today #BiVisibilityDay2022 — shivani dave (@ShivaniDave) September 23, 2022 And/or oversized sweaters and denim jackets. And a shout out to my fellow denim jacket bisexuals #BiVisibilityDay2022 https://t.co/8hMON7ZnWY — Jeff (@bi_dentity) September 23, 2022 Though some bisexuals wear robes and sandals. come on you know jesus was unapologetically bisexual — matthew richey (@sleepyrichey) September 23, 2022 This tracks with the notion of a trans Jesus, since such a large number of trans folks are bisexual. No thoughts, only transmasc Jesus mermaid tree ornament in the Little Italy Christmas store (ft. Top surgery scars) pic.twitter.com/UhnHUscomx — sarah emily baum (@sarahemilybaum) September 19, 2022 For the Christians out there struggling to understand and respect trans people, Jesus may offer some lessons. I heard a story yesterday in which a babysitter wouldn’t use a trans kid’s name because it wasn’t “Christ-like,” which is horrifying but also very ironic. Christ wasn’t Jesus’ actual last name! It’s basically a stage name. It wasn’t like: “To Mr. and Mrs. Christ, a son Jesus.” — Official UPS Hate Account (@Nico_Lang) September 22, 2022 For everyone else, take a gander at these beautifully queer creatures. People often announce to me awful things they believe Gd wants or thinks about queer or trans people. I used to make complex, theologically sound counter arguments but now I just reply with photos of the gayest looking creatures I’ve ever seen and move on w my day. To wit: pic.twitter.com/0AAjcYTwuK — S. Bear Bergman (@sbearbergman) September 21, 2022   http://dlvr.it/SYzwP6

Reposted from @vintage.films_ I am so excited for today’s Fashion Friday post. I came across this picture of Ingrid Bergman, and while it is undated I think it is safe to say that this was probably taken in the 1930s. This is such a sweet look - there are so many things about this outfit that I love. Ingrid is wearing a rather casual printed dress, giving it a more flattering look with a wide black belt. Belt styles always change throughout the years. I remember when I was in middle school wider belts were very popular, and then thin belts became “the” accessory. Right now, it looks like we are going back to the wide belt look. Anyways, the black slingback sandals compliment the belt, as well as the black trim on the bottom hem of the dress, giving the look a cohesive feel. The slightly puffy princess sleeves add to the dress’s charm. I personally love how Ingrid is wearing socks with her sandals. That is an either “love it or leave it” fashion choice, but I do think it fits this specific look. It gives it a more homey feel. #eugenelacroix1 @eugenelacroix1 https://www.instagram.com/p/CADB4gfnbZb/?igshid=909p2upzzl0

The Mysterious Case of Oliver Lindsey
Oliver Lindsey licked an onion that had spent 13 minutes in a 78 degree oven. it was reasonably hot, and partially caramelised and he didn't mind that at all. In fact that's just how we liked it. Despite his vegetable-related love in life he also had a wife and two kids. Clarissa and Damien were the names of the two kids and the wife's name we don't feel like telling so for now she'll simply be known as 'the wife'. Oliver worked for an insurance company notoriously known for internal money-laundering schemes and being particularly ruthless in not providing the adequate finances for its customers once they were in need of assistance. It was a decent life, but Oliver Lindsey held a secret from both his wife, kids and the insurance company. He was an enormous fan of the film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While many found the film poor, average or surprisingly worse than average, dear Oliver Lindsey found the movie to be a masterpiece in filmmaking surpassing efforts from both Lynch, Fellini and Bergman. But this long-held secret was not relevant to the true heart of this story. For this story that you are now reading will start to take place.
It all began on a snowy April's day. Oliver was scraping snow off his car which was looking whiter than Snow White attending a Klu Klux Klan rally. While he was smashing the windshield wiper against the window to shake the snow off he mysteriously vanished into thin air. He woke up on what appeared to be a white room with no walls in sight. Sheer white. All except a man who looked to resemble Morpheus from the Matrix series.
"What are you doing here Lawrence Fishburne?" Oliver asked, "There isn't a comic-con convention for miles around here."
"I am not Morpheus." the man said, "but I taken the shape & form to resemble Morpheus so that your mere mammalian brain can better process the scope of information for which you are about to receive."
The facial expression that appeared on Oliver's face resembled that of a 1200-piece jigsaw which was not yet solved (aka he was puzzled).
"You are on board what would be considered to be an Unidentified Flying Object by your species standard of measurement."
"Fuck." replied Oliver.
"Your popular culture would suggest that one of the reasons extraterrestrial beings would abduct humans would be to conduct scientific research, but that's not why we're here."
"What's your reason then?"
"I'm fuckin’ bored."
Oliver sat there. It was an awkward silence for a little bit but then he decided to break the ice by asking "What do you want to do then?"
"I dunno." replied the alien, "That's why I got you."
"I can't help you fam." Oliver answered, "Pick someone else more exciting.".
"Ok fair enough sorry to disturb you." the alien said meekly.
Oliver disappeared again but this time he woke up in what appeared to be Victorian late nineteenth-century London. Feeling extremely out of place wearing a singlet, shorts and sandals he realised the alien had a means of teleportation so sophisticated that he was able to be transported through to any moment in time & space... and it seemed the alien screwed up a little bit on the calculations. With no way to communicate to the extraterrestrial being Oliver Lindsey decided to find the nearest bakery and see if he could become an apprentice and eventually sell Jaffa cakes.

Introduction
From the pioneers of film to post-digital trailblazers, the aim of this challenge is to take you on an adventure through the history of film.
This challenge will take place across the 52 weeks of 2018. Each week will address a new topic that will provide signposts through your journey. The goal is to watch at least one film each week that will expand your experience of film.
The syllabus can be found below. Each weeks topic will be accompanied by a link to a list of suggested films but feel free to choose any film that you feel meets that week's subject.See the List notes for weekly dates and tags.
I have included the topics from last year's syllabus for revision purposes. Feel free to mix and match this years and last years topics. Or do both!
Rules
1. Each week you must watch the film that you have selected for that week's topic;
2. After having watched each film you must write and post a review of at least five sentences;
3. Ensure that you tag each film with the challenge tag FSDO2018. Also make sure you tag it with the weekly tag, for example, FSDO2018Week1. This will enable other students to find your reviews;
4. Read other student's reviews and share comments with one another.
Please Note
- All of these rules are voluntary;
- If you are unable to watch the listed movie in any given week you can skip it or watch it later;
- Feel free to make up your own topics for any given week if you dont like the existing topic or if you are unable to gain access to a movie that fits it;
- Feel free to change any movie on your list at any time. The availability of a film often makes this necessary;
- If you don't like writing reviews you don't have to. Maybe comment on other people's reviews so you can still be a part of the dialogue (although you don't have to do that either).
- Ultimately, the only rule is to have fun!
- I struggled to include everyone's suggestions for new topics. I wanted to add many more but alas it was not to be so. Look out for them in 2019.

1940s fashion: all the best style moments from the decade
http://fashion-trendin.com/1940s-fashion-all-the-best-style-moments-from-the-decade/
1940s fashion: all the best style moments from the decade
Despite the hardships of WWII, the 1940s were still a milestone decade for style, despite 1930s fashion being a hard act to follow. It was a decade of trailblazing styles and new silhouettes, and many of the styles we’re still supporting today. From Joan Crawford to Bette Davis, Rita Hayworth and Doris day, we chart the era’s style iconic, and top trends, that paved the way for 1950s fashion.
Christian Dior’s 1940s fashion
When it comes to 1940s fashion, Christian Dior’s groundbreaking new silhouette redefined women’s post-war style and revived France’s fashion industry after a difficult few years. The collection – featuring gorgeous full skirts and waist-cinching jackets – was Dior’s first and became forever known as the ‘New Look’, after Harper’s editor Carmel Snow said in 1947: ‘It’s such a new look!’ Imagine if every designer could knock together something like this for their debut?
Ava Gardner’s 1940s fashion
Ava Gardner was one of the decade’s most successful (and beautiful) actresses. Here she is in 1944, showcasing the beauty of a belted waist and a chic neckerchief; both of which were key 1940s fashion trends.
Bette Davis 1940s fashion
An original 1940s fashion pin-up, Bette Davis works a blue gown in this seductive shot, taken in 1943, perfectly paired with a full red lip.
Doris Day’s 1940s fashion
Doris Day shows us how to work the nautical trend during the filming of Romance On The High Seas in 1948. Remind us to drape our blazer over our shoulders on our next boat trip.
Rita Hayworth’s 1940s fashion
The actress embraces androgynous style in a pair of wide-legged trousers and monochrome flats in 1940. Our new workwear wardrobe = sorted.
Katharine Hepburn’s 1940s fashion
Katharine rocks a gingham dress and cinched-in waist on the set of The Philadelphia Story in 1940. Note the Peter Pan collar, a trend that was also a big 1960s fashion talking point and still resonates today. We all know Alexa Chung is a fan.
Joan Crawford’s 1940s fashion
Joan does it again here, showing us how to work floral prints with some seriously statement jewels (no era did power florals quite like 1970s fashion, though).
Grace Kelly’s 1940s fashion
Princess Grace of Monaco always looked flawlessly chic – even as a teen model back in 1947.
Ginger Rogers’ 1940s fashion
That wide-brimmed hat and elegant skirt suit made Ginger Rogers look effortlessly pulled-together in 1942 – hat brims were now much bigger than the cloche styles of 1920s fashion. And check out those leather driving gloves – if only we looked this good on our way to the airport.
Barbara Stanwyck’s 1940s fashion
Über-embellishment and major cocktail jewels made Barbara Stanwyck look like a total screen goddess in 1941, along with her perfectly curled ‘do.
Rita Hayworth’s 1940s fashion
This famous black satin gown from Rita Hayworth’s striptease scene in Gilda set tongues wagging in 1946.
Ingrid Bergman’s 1940s fashion
We’d wear those block-heeled sandals today. Check out the flawless Ingrid Bergman working a perfect capsule holiday in Casablanca.
Rita Hayworth’s 1940s fashion
Here’s our Ibiza style inspiration sorted. Rita Hayworth works a printed bikini, huge sun hat and peep-toe heels. If only we looked this put-together by the pool.
Midi length skirts
These midi-length skirts couldn’t be more on trend, and these women in Paris demonstrate the timeless look perfectly. Have French women EVER been out of style?
Ann Sheridan in metallics
Ann works the metallics trend in this decadent high-neck gown. We could totally see this on the red carpet at this year’s Oscars.
Hedi Lamarr’s 1940s fashion
Actress Hedi rocks a huge floral corsage for Come Live With Me. So this is where Carrie Bradshaw got her inspiration from…
Lauren Bacall’s 1940s fashion
Lauren looks flawless in this thigh-split satin gown in 1944. We could totally see Angelina Jolie wearing this vintage wonder.
Barbara Stanwyck’s 1940s fashion
Barbara rocks a tailored pastel blue suit in 1940 with a few pops of leopard print to accessorise. Lovely.
Olivia de Havilland’s 1940s fashion
The crop top was a big look in the early forties, too. We adore Olivia’s impossibly glamorous jewels.
